CompTIA A+ Core 2
CompTIA's A+ Core 2 exam covers the software side of IT support: operating systems, security, software troubleshooting and the procedures a support tech follows. Practice installing and managing Windows, macOS and Linux, removing malware, securing devices and working tickets the way a help desk does. Every question is original and maps to CompTIA's current V15 exam objectives.
What you'll study
Every section follows the official 220-1202 exam outline. Click a domain to see its sections.
OS types, filesystems and life cycles, installs, partitioning and upgrades, Windows editions, Task Manager, MMC snap-ins and command-line tools, Control Panel and Settings, client networking, then macOS, Linux commands and installing apps and cloud productivity tools.
Physical and logical security, MFA and identity, Windows accounts and permissions, Defender, firewall, BitLocker and Active Directory, malware types and the removal procedure, social engineering, workstation hardening and data disposal, plus securing mobile devices, SOHO wireless and browsers.
Windows that won't boot, runs slowly or crashes, mobile apps and OS updates that fail, battery and connectivity problems, rooted or compromised phones, and the PC and browser symptoms that point to malware, from security alerts and altered files to pop-ups, redirects and certificate warnings.
Ticketing, asset management and documentation, change management, backup and recovery, safety and environmental controls, incident response, licensing and regulated data, communication and professionalism, scripting basics and remote access, and AI concepts.
Study, Quiz, Exam
Read the concepts, practice in short rounds, then test yourself on a mock exam with targeted feedback on where you need to focus more. Every question is original and maps to the official 220-1202 outline.
Learn the concept first
Short study cards cover each section before you answer a single question.
Both are simple filesystems for removable media, without permissions or journaling. FAT32 limits any single file to 4 GB regardless of free space, but nearly every device reads it. exFAT lifts that limit and is what the SD standard sets for SDXC cards (over 32 GB); smaller SDHC cards use FAT32.
Ten-question rounds
Every answer explained. Score 80% and the next section unlocks.
A user tries to copy a 6 GB video file to a USB flash drive that has 20 GB free. Windows reports that the file is too large for the destination file system.
Which filesystem is the flash drive MOST likely formatted with?
FAT32 can't store a single file larger than 4 GB, no matter how much free space the drive has, so a 6 GB file fails to copy. exFAT and NTFS both handle files far larger than 6 GB. ReFS also supports very large files and isn't used for USB flash drives.
